We recently had a concern raised to us from a community resident regarding a rumour about McDonald's. Naturally, we reached out to find out as much as we could about this, and I have posted below the response from McDonald's concerning this. It appears that a final site for a McDonald's restaurant has not yet been determined, and the local community will be engaged when a site is selected.

This shows the importance of your Community Council, and how it works for the community's benefit. Other groups in the village aren't consulted on such things, and so you wouldn't get to hear about this development from them. This is why it is so important to support your Community Council, so you get a say in these things.Good Morning Mr Houghton

I am aware that McDonald’s have been associated with several sites in the Stranraer and the Town is of interest to the business for a new restaurant development. As we progress this search we have and are reviewing a number of sites and once a decision has been made and agreements have been concluded we will be in a position to open community engagement pre-planning.
I have also asked our external communications team to contact you and will of course keep you updated as matters progress.
