Stranraer Place Plan

Local Place Plans (LPPs) are community produced plans that express the aspirations and ambitions for their area. Stranraer is developing its own place plan called the Stranraer Place Plan, which is looking for the priority improvements within the town. An application has been submitted for a £5m boost to apply to the selected projects. The more the local community is involved in the discussion, the more the improvements in the town can be tailored to the community's needs.

For the Stranraer Place Plan, Barbara Chalmers has created the website 'Creating Stranraer', which can be found at the following link:

This website explains that the first step was a six month period gathering the wishes of the local community by way of a survey. This period was completed in March 2023, and is giving rise to a consultation paper due for publication on 2 June. This will then have 28 days until the 30 June for feedback to help decide the priorities for attention within the town. To discuss this further there is a meeting to be held at the Rugby Club on 6 June. This event is free, but is ticketed. A seat can be reserved using Eventbrite. The Stranraer Place Plan has now been published as a consultation paper. There is a link on https://www.creatingstranraer.co.uk/. Please take a look, then there is a survey for you to rank the priorities. This ensures that priority is given to what the local community actually wants.

The consultation is only open until 30 June 2023, so be sure to submit your preferences before then.
